The Binghamton Zoo’s 140th season is off to a running start with many events and promotions leading up to its Grand Opening on Saturday April 18th, 2015. On Friday, April 3rd, join the Binghamton Zoo at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena for Zoo Night with the Binghamton Senators. Hop on over to the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park for its first event of the season: Eggstravaganza! This Easter themed event is fun for all ages and includes an Easter egg hunt, photos with an Easter bunny, crafts and more! Upon arrival at the zoo, kids will pick up their Easter bag at the ticket booth and head into the zoo to locate the Easter eggs.  After finding the eggs, they can bring them to the Education Center and exchange them for candy and prizes! Meet Jiang, Our New Red Panda

Welcome Jiang, a 12 year old red panda, sent to the Binghamton Zoo by recommendations from the red panda SSP (Species Survival Plan). Jiang joins us from the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence, RI. He is owned by Red River Zoo in ND. Jiang's name means “ginger” in Chinese. The pairing of Mei-Li and Jiang is considered very genetically valuable, especially since Jiang has not produced any offspring in his lifetime. November 11, 2014 - SSP NEWS: The Binghamton Zoo is excited to announce that we have been recommended by the prehensile-tailed porcupine Species Survival Plan to have a breeding pair in Binghamton. The zoo has housed sibling porcupines Henry and Zoey for the past few years. Henry recently moved to a new home at the Erie Zoo in PA. November 7, 2014 - SSP NEWS: The Binghamton Zoo has been recommended by the red panda Species Survival Plan to pair Mei-Li with a male for the upcoming breeding season. A male red panda will be coming to the Binghamton Zoo later this month (details to come). November 3, 2014 - SSP NEWS: We are thrilled to announce that our two female fennec foxes, Jasmine and Sahara, are set to be founders of their species. Working with the fennec fox Species Survival Plan (SSP), the Binghamton Zoo is coordinating with multiple other zoos to help further the fennec fox species. We just returned from the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium where we sent Jasmine, who will be paired with a male from The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. The zoo will be open from 10:00am-3:00pm (gate closes at 4:00pm) for weekends only through the month of November. 23rd Annual Boo at the Zoo

Take a haunted tour through the Binghamton Zoo for the 23rd annual Boo at the Zoo sponsored by Empower Federal Credit Union and Price Chopper’s Golub Foundation. The Binghamton Zoo is pleased to announce another Halloween season with ‘Howloween at the Zoo’ and ‘Boo at the Zoo’ scheduled for the month of October. Howloween at the Zoo, sponsored by National Pipe & Plastics, will be held on October 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, and 19 from the hours of 10 am to 4 pm (last ticket sold at 3:00pm).
