Zoo School Teacher

Maintenance Team Member (Description Below)

Duties and Requirements:

  • Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and carpentry
  • Basic knowledge of electrical a plus
  • Must be able to work with landscaping equipment such as weed whackers and lawn mowers
  • Must be able to work well with others and follow instructions
  • Comfortable working around the public and animals
  • Must be available on call for weekends, holidays, and nights at certain times
  • Knowledge of HVAC a plus
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle repair a plus

Unpaid Internships

The Binghamton Zoo offers several full and part time internship opportunities throughout the year. Binghamton Zoo internships offer great experience in a variety of departments including animal care, education, marketing, and more. Interns will have different requirements depending on the department in which they choose to apply.

Special Events and Development

Animal Care Job Shadowing: We do accept applicants for job shadowing. Students should be at least 16 years of age and be in good academic standing. We review applicants on a case-by-case basis so there are no deadlines.
